Strong Scotch Ales range from light copper to dark brown in color. The aroma of these ales is malty and somewhat fruity. The flavors of roasted malt in these beers are extremely rich. Some Strong Scotch Ales may be nutty and fruity, but malt flavors will dominate. Ales of this kind are full-bodied and finish sweet to dry.
