About this Brewery
Christian Moerlein Brewing Co. was founded in 1853 by the man himself, Christian Moerlein. Founded in Cincinnati OH, Moerlein Lagers & Ales was the most prominent brewer of its time, gaining notoriety as the only Cincinnati beer exported throughout the world.
The brewery was not able to survive the dark period of the prohibition until 1981, when Cincinnati witnessed the revival of the heritage brand. In 2004, Gregory Hardman a Cincinnati resident and beer baron purchased the Christian Moerlein Brewing Co.
