Poured into a pint glass. 3.5 A: Depending on the lighting, this is orange amber or amber brown in color. About one finger of frothy off-white head dies down quickly, but leaves a decent amount of lacing. 3.5 S: Pungent floral and citrus hops with emphasis on pineapple and grapefruit. Not much going on malt-wise except for a touch of the standard crystal malt presence. Still, reasonably pleasant. 3.0 T: Moderate, or maybe more, hop bitterness. Crystal malts with a very slight nuttiness. Touch of citrusy hops. None of the flavors are very strong other than the bitterness and they don't go together that well. 3.0 M: Medium body. Carbonation is a bit too high and is very bity, giving a not very smooth journey down. 3.0 D: This isn't a terrible brew, but it's hard to figure out what is good about it. Citrus aroma, slight citrus flavor, a hoppy slight sour flavor. Lighter in body then the color would suggest.

Happily hoppy. Lots of depth for an amber. Scent reminds me of Autumn.

This wasn't bad. It was tasty but didn't have the mouth watering hoppy aroma.

Much more aromatic than the ipa/esb. Nice combination of herbal and citrus bitterness at the back of the tongue while maintaining enough balance.

Was served in the bottle. Very bitter (not a bad thing) but it has a strong matalic flavor.

Mild caramel and roast notes on the nose. Slight English hop aroma. Moderate caramel and nutty flavor from the malt with a balanced hop bitterness that finishes highly earthy.

A suprising departure from ambers I have had in the past, which tended to be pretty bland for the most part. Red Horizon has a nice hop punch to it, bitter but not overly so. Noticable malt presence in aroma and taste. Not a heavy beer, would lend itself well to being a session beer.

Lots of hops, but amber like. Piney, yet citrusy.

Had an unmistakable taste of ammonia about it. Really enjoyed the smell, but the absolutely terrible taste really let me down.

An incredibly hoppy taste keeps this from being on my personal wheel house. Those who find the pleasant bitterness associated with the hoppy ale will enjoy this.
