Typically for special occasions
just another good beer. More bitter than Guinness Draught, but still a good beer!
excellent
The extra stout does it for me in a way that the draught can never do!
I do like Guiness and no matter what they say it is better on tap in Ireland. Outside of that I have a tough time drinking it on a regular basis.
Best on tap, or those cans that carbonate when you open them. In a regular bottle, not that great. This is the beer that got me to venture off of my Bud Light days.
i'd give it a 3.2. It was pretty good and better than the other guiness beers i've had
Probably my favorite of the Guinness beers I've tried. Always enjoyable.
You will never go wrong with a Guinness.
Dry
Smooth and easy to drink.
It's not as good as Foreign Extra
fucking delicious!
dark roasted malt nose creamy tan head, great lacing smooth complex stout chocolate dark fruit flavor with a good balance of hops very well done beer
Rich black-chestnut, leaves a thick foamy head, good lacing, great retention. Nose is mild coffee, a bit of burned or roasted malt, but with a strange pale-lager character lurking in the background. Starts off sweet, malty, with a mild roasty flavour before a bitter, astringent, burnt coffee finish wipes the palate clean. This is indeed nothing at all like regular draught Guinness, which I've increasingly found to be too sweet and watery for my liking. Strange also to have a Guinness product without nitro involved in the bottling or canning. Medium-bodied, silky, quite smooth, with mild carbonation. Puckery from the astringent hops and bitter coffee finish. Not bad, I will probably pick this up again instead of regular Guinness when the situation calls for it. The bitterness and tartness of the brew gives new life into a long-since diluted and over-marketed brand. No appeals to the lowest-common denominator here. My new definition of "Guinness."
Good flavor,
These stout was a dissapointment specially the plum after taste
One of my all time favorites. Simply put, once poured there's nothing more beautiful in a beer!
