Malt forward nutty deliciousness. Nice balanced finish. Might be on the hoppy side for some.

Fruity chocolate forward aroma, followed by lightly toasted nuts. Dry with a yeasty nutty flavor. A small hop bitterness that quickly fades. Light bodied and very drinkable.

Poured into a pint glass. 4.0 A: Clear light brown color with deep amber at the periphery. Two fingers of off-white dense froth. Retention is good and and a short ring of lacing is left. 4.0 S: This is easily one of the most chocolatety brown ales I've come across. Tons of milk chocolate with nuttiness not too far behind. Hops are of the citrusy and flowery realm. Toastiness for round everything out. 3.5 T: The taste isn't as robust as the nose might have suggested. Most of the chocolate has vanished with the nuttiness and toastiness also reduced. The hops give a mild bitterness and an earthy and citrusy flavor. Still tasty, just not as much as I thought it would be. 3.0 M: And here is the reason that the taste isn't as bold as the nose suggested. This beer falls on the lighter end of a medium body, possibly even lighter than that. Good moderate carbonation. Could definitely use some more creaminess. 3.0 D: This would be a pretty good beer if the mash temp was a good bit higher. The mouthfeel is weak and brings down the whole experience to "average." Pours a pretty burnt amber. Good aromatics with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and burnt caramel. On the palate it's medium-bodied with roasted & nutty flavors. A somewhat sweet aftertaste finishes it off. Very well done.

This was not a standout for me - good, but not amazing. I can see it as a post-work beer. Hard work, when you need something cold. It's fairly full, but not overly so.

poured a ruby brown with 1/4" head. not much smell at first. tastes of chocolate and malt up front balanced with a slight bitterness. ended with a slight vanilla sweetness. nice brown. nothing crazy but still a solid choice.

Great lacing, deep jewel brown color, and a lot more than it's pieces.
