After drinking this, it has become one of my top ale's period. And will buy this ale again.
Very bright blonde pour with a very white head that lasts a while. Tastes as good as it smells, with a strong clove taste. Almost dry finish, with maybe a hint of the alcohol. Very refreshing.
good blonde taste pours a nice goldish foam head flavor of light hops but a bit bitter..4star to me
Very unique old time Belgian ale that drinks like a pilsner Really nothing like it and a must try!
Fruity and refreshing.
Very fruity - lots of carbonation.
delicious golden Belgian ale. taste similar to some saisons.
Fruity on the nose. Very mild banana clove flavor combined with a more assertive taste of golden raisins.
Good one.
A bright, foamy head tops this clear, light-golden brew. A spiced character dominates the flavor, with cloves being the one thing I can pin down. There's a dry crispness to it, almost like champagne without all the evervescence. I love how drinkable this is, and I've nearly quaffed the whole thing in the time it took to type this. Picked up the 4-bottle giftpack with a tulip for 8 bucks, so excuse me as I buy up what's remaining.
This must be around 45-50°F. Once at the right temp, this turns into a strong, heady brew. The clove phenol comes forward at this temperature, blending in with the malt very well. The aroma is strongly sulfuric. This is driven off as the beer warms and isn't present in the flavor of the warm beer. Drunk cold, however, it seems like an overly fruity pilsner with a harsh sulfur bite. Value is low due to the high cost of this beer. It's a good import, but you'll probably pay a lot for it.
I first had this in a city near Brussels. loved it ever since. it's a little on the pricey side but its worth.it. I probably would only enjoy this with food because at 8.6 its a bit big all alone. it works well with just about any foods except very creamy dishes.
How this is rated less than a 4 on here is beyond me. Taste is dry and is very drinkable. Alcohol is very well hidden.
One of my favs. It tastes like super carbonated champagne beer. Definitely a sipping beer. NICE HEAD.
this beer reminded me of a cheap champagne. it was way too carbonated, up to the point of blocking out the beer's taste. i think i was expecting way much more for the price of the beer and was utterly dissapointed. i wont say its a bad beer, but its definatelt NOT worth the money. light bitterness, clear gold color, faint scents, mineral water feel x 4. not my style. ive had way better for way cheaper.
I do not know any other beer with such foam. Dense and live so long, even a the finish the foam remains on the wall or botton of the pint. The Saaz hop...one of my favorites.
The beer is pretty decent, depending on your mood, but damn the Duvel glass is the most perfect beer glass there is!
clean, crisp, dry, fruity/citrus .... easy to drink, a little too bubbly for my preference but a delicious Belgian
nice golden color with massive head that lasts a very long time, aroma of clove, banana, slight hops and malt, sweet malt upfront into complex bitterness that lasts flavor constantly changes though excellent beer
It's a good belgian beer without overdoing the spice and hop.
