Excellent beer for a steak
Not too sweet, not too phenolic, just right
Rich malty taste!
Strong and fruity. Great beer!
Fruity aroma with a rich malty taste. Love this beer.
This is one of my favorites. A solid Belgian Trappist ale... But only as great as it can be if you drink it out of a wide mouthed glass!
Love this beer must drink out of the correct glass
APPEARANCE - Dark brown, with a 4-finger head that dissipates slowly. Not much lacing.
AROMA/SCENT - Nutty, sweet.
TASTE - Fresh, sweet, nutty.
MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Good carbonation, smooth.
VALUE - $8 for 11 oz. bottle - low price for an import at a restaurant.
OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - Good drinking beer. Not overly boozy.
Heavy enough taste, but different from other chimays ... My favorite from this brewery
One of my favorite Chimays
Goes down so smooth for a dark beer and finishes really clean for 9% ABV
What a great beer. I really enjoyed this one.
Big flavours, toasty full lengthy yeasty flavour!
Complex, Fruity, Malty, Rich, Medium-bodied Belgian Strong Dark Ale- 9% ABV. Trappist Ale. Dark and inviting, rich with a sweetness that gives a dry finish. A hint of pepper spiciness that's balanced by cedar and nutmeg.
A dark ruby beer with a big foamy head. Aroma is of dry fruits, nuts, alcohol and caramel. Taste is bitter with a strong finish. Rich and dense with a malt character. It has a considerable amount of alcohol, yet it is very well-balanced. There is some carbonation and astringency.
Makes you wish you were a monk.
Good drank with Mikey Petros
The best of chimay!
The best of the Chimays. Smooth and very flavorful. Best drank cold.
